Burlington Season Won't Continue in Playoffs Wednesday, September 3rd , 2025 The Burlington Royals players and coaches held a closed-door meeting today after the club was eliminated from postseason contention. "We just wanted to talk about the season and where we are right now and how we get to our ultimate goal," said a dejected Jon Bates. "We don't want to have this feeling next season." Before this season, the Royals had made the playoffs 7 times in a row. In the 11 years they have been a Appalachian League franchise, they have missed the playoffs 4 times. Burlington last won the Round 1 in 2024. |
