Greeneville-Pulaski Brawl, Roberts and Varner Suspended Thursday, August 14th , 2025 After an intense confrontation, both the Astros Shawn Roberts and the Yankees Broderick Varner were handed their punishments today. The league commissioner's office issued suspensions for an on-the-field conflict that occurred at a recent Greeneville-Pulaski game. Shawn Roberts will miss 4 games, while Broderick Varner was suspended for 6 games. "Sometimes we go too far and have to pay the consequences," Shawn Roberts commented later. "Hopefully cooler heads will prevail the next time we play." Thus far this year, Roberts is batting .189 with 2 home runs, 16 RBIs and 13 runs scored. Currently Varner has a 1-2 won-lost record in 10 starts with a 2.83 ERA. He also has 52 strikeouts in 41.1 innings. |
