NWL Presents Outstanding Pitcher Award

The Eugene clubhouse staff referred to him as "the kid" this season. Next year Walt Johnson will have to have a new nickname. He earned it after winning the 2025 Northwest League Outstanding Pitcher Award.

Johnson made 12 starts this year, winning 6 and losing 0. He threw 86 innings, fanned 79, allowed 101 hits and 36 walks, while holding opposing teams to a .294 average as he logged an impressive 2.93 ERA.

He received 8 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Cliff Jewell of the Spokane Tribe finished second in voting, while José Aloniz of the Tri-City Dust Devils finished third.
