Hillsboro Halts Blankenbeckler's Hitting Steak Tuesday, August 19th , 2025 Vancouver shortstop Robbie Blankenbeckler came into today's game against the Hillsboro Hops on a hot streak. He left on a cold one. The Hops did their jobs well, beating the Vancouver Canadians, 1-0, and holding Blankenbeckler hitless to snap his 23-game hitting streak. The 23-year-old shortstop had a few words to say after finishing 0-for-4, telling reporters only that he "came up short." "What Robbie did was exciting and quite an achievement," said Canadians manager Jason Hagerty. "It's tough enough to get one hit in this league, much less go 23 games in a row. I'm even more proud of the way he handled the press coverage. He never let the frenzy get to him or affect his play." This year, Blankenbeckler has hit at a .363 pace and produced 50 RBIs, 3 home runs and scored 48 runs. |
