Monday, June 30th , 2025
It wasn't just another day at the ballpark for Mario Aguilar of the Boise Hawks. Aguilar went on a tear at Gesa Stadium and cracked hit after hit off Tri-City pitching. When the dust settled on the diamond, the 21-year-old center fielder had a career 5-for-9 day and something he will long remember.
"Yeah, it'll be something nice to tell the grandkids, but I don't think I'll tell them we lost," he joked in the BNN postgame interview.
Despite Aguilar's personal accolades, the Tri-City Dust Devils walked off the field with the 12-11 win.
Mario Aguilar struck out in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, grounded out in the 4th, singled in the 5th, singled in the 8th, singled in the 10th, singled in the 12th, doubled in the 14th and flied out in the 15th.
So far this season, Aguilar is hitting .364 with 1 home run, 9 RBIs and 9 runs scored. He has 28 hits in 77 at-bats and a .398 OBP.
