Deorta Keeps Hit Streak Alive Friday, August 8th , 2025 Jorge Deorta has been ripping hits every day for a while now, and nobody seems able to stop him. The State College designated hitter picked up 4 more today against the West Virginia Black Bears and now has a 20-game hitting streak. The Spikes won the game, 11-2. "Definitely somebody's going to stop me at some point," he said later, chuckling. "I'll enjoy it for the time being." Jorge Deorta hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit a two-run single in the 2nd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and flied out in the 8th. At present, Deorta is batting .475 and has collected 1 home run, 20 RBIs, .505 OBP and scored 12 runs. |
