Simpson Big Deal in Lowell: Hits for Cycle
Friday, August 8th , 2025
Some days everything just falls in place.
It all came together for Johnathan Simpson and the Lowell Spinners at Dwyer Stadium. The Spinners went home winners and the shortstop had a 4-for-5 day that included the cycle, a baseball rarity.
"He sure was a wrecking ball today," said Lowell manager Tony Castillo following his club's 8-4 taming of the Batavia Muckdogs.
Johnathan Simpson doubled in the 1st, tripled in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Dante López in the 5th, grounded out in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
So far this season, Simpson is hitting .361 with 6 home runs, 38 RBIs and 38 runs scored. He has 87 hits in 241 at-bats and a .386 OBP.
