Round 2 to Red Sox Friday, September 23rd , 2022 The Salem Red Sox ignited a huge celebration as they beat the Frederick Keys 5-2 to win the Round 2. Salem won the series 4-3, capturing the title for the 2nd time. "We stepped it up at the right time, and now we're the champs," said Salem manager Jose Nieves. "It's a great feeling." The champs finished the regular season 87-53 and claimed first place in the Southern Division. In the jubilant clubhouse after the decisive game, series MVP and catcher Dylan Cotton said the Red Sox have "great fans and they deserve this." "I am so happy for our city right now," he said.
