Springfield-Arkansas Brawl, Williams and Rivera Suspended Saturday, July 26th , 2025 Doug Williams of the Springfield Cardinals and Octávio Rivera of the Arkansas Travelers will be on the sidelines for a few days. They have been suspended for 3 and 6 games respectively by the league office for causing the bench-emptying free-for-all at the recent Cardinals-Travelers game at Hammons Field. Neither player had any comment about the suspensions. Both clubs told BNN Williams and Rivera will begin serving them soon. This year, Williams is hitting .276 with 32 hits, 1 home run, 17 RBIs and has scored 18 runs. Rivera has taken the mound for 17 relief appearances this season, nailing down 1 save while notching a 4-1 record with a 6.38 ERA. The Arkansas reliever has limited opposing batters to a .306 batting average. |
