Red-Hot Vaughn Cools Off Springfield Friday, July 25th , 2025 In a remarkable performance, Arkansas Travelers starter Steve Vaughn beat the Springfield Cardinals, 7-0, in an impressive 4-hit shutout. "My arm felt good, mechanics were good and my stuff was working," he said later. "It doesn't get any better than this." The Travelers hurler finished with 4 strikeouts and 2 walks. He showed pinpoint control and a sharp fastball. "It was a rough one for my guys," Springfield manager Elvis Morel said, following the game. "We weren't at our best and their guy was."
