Luis Espinoza, the talented Chattanooga left fielder, certainly made his name known among Southern League hurlers this season. He hammered them for 172 hits, 40 doubles, 7 triples, 4 home runs, 49 RBIs and scored 80 times. That kind of output made him the choice for Southern League Most Valuable Player Award for 2025.

He received 4 first place votes out of a possible 10. Greg Jones of the Pensacola Blue Wahoos finished second in voting with 3 first place votes, while Luis Suárez of the Jacksonville Suns finished third with 1 first place vote.
