Jackson Shut Out, 5-0, By Firebirds, Kirby Friday, September 5th , 2025 Mississippi Firebirds starter Kevin Kirby really did a number on the Jackson Generals, shutting them out, 5-0, on 7 hits in a complete game victory. He issued 4 walks and had 5 strikeouts. "We didn't have good at-bats," said Jackson manager Mark L. Johnson. "I don't make excuses, but when we were playing the game, our energy didn't show. That comes from either extremely good pitching or extremely lousy hitting and seeing as our team has a bunch of good hitters, I have to tip my cap to Kirby."
