Mississippi Held Hitless by Romero Monday, August 11th , 2025 In a dominant outing, José Romero of the Chattanooga Lookouts totally silenced the bats of the Mississippi Firebirds, finishing with a no-hitter. In the 8-0 victory, Romero faced only 34 batters, surrendered no hits, had 13 strikeouts and 6 walks. "Honestly, I didn't even know the situation was what it was until the seventh inning," Chattanooga manager Mike Johns said. "I happened to look up there to see how many hits we had gotten, and I happened to notice that they hadn't gotten any." Commenting on the defeat, losing manager Chris Herrmann told reporters in the clubhouse that he had a "simple" analysis of the game. "The Lookouts had all the hits and all the runs, so they won," he snapped. "But yeah, Romero pitched a heck of a ballgame."
