July's #1 Hurler Announced: Suarez Wins Award Friday, August 1st , 2025 The Birmingham Barons really got a lot out of their bullpen in July and Jose A. Suarez definitely played the leading role. Today the Southern League recognized his spectacular contribution, naming him the Pitcher of the Month for July. He made 13 relief appearances and compiled 10 saves in 18.2 innings with 21 strikeouts and a 0.96 ERA. Suarez has nailed down 13 saves to date.
