Ochoa Puts Screws to Tennessee
Sunday, July 13th , 2025
Héctor Ochoa was in a mood to talk following the Birmingham Barons contest against the Tennessee Smokies, expounding to BNN reporters on his pitching philosophy. He had good reason to be excitable, having tossed a complete game shutout of the Smokies, 4-0.
"There are three important elements in pitching success: location, location, and location," Ochoa said. "I was hitting my spots time and time again."
The right-hander blanked Tennessee on a 4-hitter, allowing 2 walks and racking up 5 strikeouts.
This season, Ochoa has a 1-1 mark in 6 starts with a 2.86 ERA. He has given up 48 hits in 44 innings, struck out 31 and issued 15 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .284 batting average against him.
