Cardinals Beaten By Pirates, 3-2

Starting pitcher Jim Reynolds gave the Pittsburgh Pirates a rock-solid performance, helping his team defeat the St. Louis Cardinals, 3-2, at PNC Park. The win gives Pittsburgh a record of 15-14.
Jeremy Bowen had a big 2-run home run for the Pirates in the bottom of the second inning. With Pittsburgh leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a sinker from Daniel Missaki, who led the AL in ERA with 2.64 in 2021, and punished it. The result was his 4th home run of the season, which put the Pirates on top, 3-0.
"We take it day by day here," said Bowen, "and today was a good one for us."
