The Los Angeles Angels scooped up a win at Target Field, dumping the Minnesota Twins, 2-1. Derrek McGriff, who is a two-time All-Star, was essential to his team's success. The Angels, now 21-6, have played well so far.
Los Angeles used the hitting of Mike Trout to pick up the win. The left fielder clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Angels on top, 2-0. For the game, Trout had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Derrek's focus was outstanding. The way he handled every moment -- when there was a little trouble, he didn't lose his tempo or his rhythm," said Los Angeles manager Mike Scioscia.
