Rendon Leads Blue Jays to Win
|
Anthony Rendon, who finished 5th in the NL in extra base hits with 66 in 2014, led Toronto to a triumph over New York. The final score was 7-3. The third baseman went 4 for 4, falling a triple shy of the cycle. He scored 2 runs and added 3 RBI. Madison Bumgarner was the winner. Over 6 innings, he yielded 2 runs on 4 hits, with 2 walks and 3 strikeouts. The setback makes the Yankees 10-18.
With Toronto leading 2-0 in the top of the third, Rendon hit a forkball from Helmis Rodriguez for a run-scoring double. It was his 1st double of the season and put the Blue Jays ahead, 3-0.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Rendon.
