Artie Breslin made an impact in the 6-5 Oakland win over Kansas City. Breslin, who leads the AL in triples with 3, was 3-5 with a triple and a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Oakland reliever Vito Porchianelo picked up the win, raising his record to 2-2. Kevin Martin was tagged with the loss. The Royals fall to 10-16 and continue to sputter in the early going.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Gabriel Corporan? The 27-year old third baseman Corporan stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the 11th inning to put Oakland up, 6-5. For the game, he was 3 for 4, including 2 doubles and 1 single.
