Smith Hits 2 home runs in Brewers Win
|
The Milwaukee Brewers beat the Detroit Tigers by a score of 9-1. Milwaukee designated hitter Jim Smith deserved the lion's share of the credit. Smith slugged 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3 for the Brewers. The winner was Milwaukee reliever Leonardo Miranda, now 2-1. The loser was Cam Adkins. The Brewers, now 19-4, have played inspired baseball.
With Milwaukee leading 3-1 in the top of the third, Smith hit a fastball from Cam Adkins for a 2-run home run. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Brewers ahead, 5-1.
"The boys came out and just played their butts off," said Milwaukee manager Doug Dascenzo.
