Seattle took on Houston in front of a lively crowd.
Led by Michael Choice, the Seattle Mariners downed the Houston Astros, 6-2. Choice was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 and driving in 2 for the Mariners. Al Lockhart got the win, improving to 2-1. He pitched 5 innings, giving up 7 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 6 and walking 1.
With Seattle leading 2-0 in the bottom of the fourth, Choice hit a cutter from Mike Cunningham for a 2-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Mariners ahead, 4-0.
"We did a lot of really good things and it was a good win," said Mariners manager Jeff Banister.
The loss makes the Astros 8-17.
