Mariners Stumble, Lose to Blue Jays
|
Toronto Blue Jays starter Chris Sale pitched a strong game against the Seattle Mariners at Rogers Centre, leading the Blue Jays to victory, 8-2. Sale picked up the win for Toronto, going 7 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 1-3. Max Pearson earned the save, his 1st, for the Blue Jays.
Josh Morgan, who finished 5th in the AL in on-base percentage with .368 in 2023, helped out the Toronto cause in the bottom of the second inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the second baseman went 3-4 with 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
Said losing manager Jeff Banister: "We need to play with more of an edge."
The loss puts Seattle at 11-10.
