Washington right-hander Joey Gatto pitched his team to victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates at PNC Park. The final score was 3-0. Robbie McJannett was credited with the save for Washington, his 4th of the season. The win brings the Nationals to 10-7, a promising start as the team looks to return to the playoffs.

Gatto's performance can only be described as masterful. He notched 6 strikeouts in 7 innings while allowing 2 hits. Gatto goes to 3-1 on the year with 18 strikeouts.

"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Washington manager Mark Grudzielanek.
