The Houston Astros and Texas Rangers played an entertaining game for Minute Maid Park patrons.

Starting pitcher Greg Connolly was a major factor in the 3-2 Houston Astros triumph over the Texas Rangers. Houston reliever Andres Sanchez picked up the win to move to 2-1. Madison Bumgarner suffered the loss. Erling Moreno earned the save, his 4th, for the Astros.

Houston shortstop Ed van Zandvliet helped the Astros go up, 3-2, in the bottom of the seventh inning. With the game tied, van Zandvliet hit a run-scoring single off Texas pitcher Roberto Cancio.

"We need better swings, better at-bats," said losing manager Eric Wedge.

Houston is still hoping to get on a roll. The win is just their 6th in 16 games.
