Hammers Handle Cleveland, Snag 5-4 Win
Ernie Jones had a good game, but he could not keep the Cleveland Guardians from falling, 5-4, to the Atlanta Hammers at SunTrust Park. The Cleveland third baseman was 1-4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once in the loss. The win went to Chad Jackson in relief, making him now 1-0. Jose C. Medina took the loss for Cleveland. The win takes Atlanta to 8-8.

In the bottom of the sixth, Wes Ramey delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and a runner on 2nd, the Atlanta catcher hit a run-scoring single, putting the Hammers in front, 5-4.

"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Atlanta manager Vince Harrison.
