Mets Lose to Pirates, 4-1
|
The umbrellas came out during the Pittsburgh-New York contest at Citi Field.
The Pittsburgh Pirates beat the New York Mets, 4-1. Pittsburgh pitcher and Lake Hamilton, Arkansas, native Dan Crawford led the way. The Mets, now 4-10, continue their poor start.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Don Jones? The Pittsburgh first baseman had a 2-run double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Pirates on top, 4-0. For the game, Jones had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"It was a tough night at the plate," said New York manager Joe Girardi.
