Rangers Capture Close Win
|
Texas beat Seattle on the strength of starting pitcher Iván Galló's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 3-2. Daniel Gomez came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. His record now stands at 1-0. The Mariners drop to 5-8, as their stumbling start to the 2026 season continues.
Jorge García, who finished 5th in the AL in hits with 181 last year, helped out the Texas cause in the bottom of the seventh inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the second baseman drove in one run.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Seattle skipper Jeff Banister, "and it cost us."
