The Frisco RoughRiders and Midland RockHounds provided some drama for the home crowd.

The Midland RockHounds managed to get by the Frisco RoughRiders, 10-9, in 13 innings at Dr. Pepper Ballpark. Midland shortstop José Chacón set himself apart with his performance. The winner was Yajirobei Hirayama in relief. His record improves to 4-10. Joel Howell took the loss.

José Rodríguez was 3-6 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs for Midland. The 25-year old left fielder had a key at-bat in the top of the 13th. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he broke a 9-9 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Joel Howell. It was his 56th RBI of the season.

"That's what these guys do," said RockHounds manager Basilio Cabrera. "They battle, they fight."

The triumph makes Midland 43-86.
