A 3-RBI performance from Héctor Rodríguez, who is tied for 10th in the TEX in RBI with 47, helped the Tulsa Drillers beat the Frisco RoughRiders, 13-2. Tulsa improves to 73-45 with the win. They lead their division by 8½ games.

Jorge Ortega had a big grand slam home run for the Drillers in the top of the fifth inning. With Tulsa leading 4-2 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from Manny Sánchez and swatted a home run to right. It was his 12th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Drillers ahead, 8-2.

Frisco manager Mike Breyman called the pummeling "nothing to write home about."
