The Midland RockHounds finished off the Tulsa Drillers, 7-4. Much of the credit belonged to designated hitter José Rodríguez. Rodríguez went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the RockHounds. Yajirobei Hirayama closed it out for his 17th save. Midland, with the win, sits at 36-78.

José Chacón was 1-4 for Midland. The 25-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and a runner on 3rd, he broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Touki Toussaint. It was his 22nd RBI of the season.
