Hooks Bag 2-1 Win
|
A good time was had by all at Whataburger Field, where the Frisco RoughRiders and Corpus Christi Hooks tangled.
In a low-scoring affair between the Corpus Christi Hooks and the Frisco RoughRiders, pitcher Wes Carter was the difference between victory and defeat. The Corpus Christi right-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 2-1 Hooks win. The South Division-leading Hooks are 53-44.
Chris Roberts drew 1 walk in 3 trips to the plate for Corpus Christi. The 27-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring walk off Jesús García. It was his 29th walk of the season.
"Wes was good -- real good," said Hooks manager Alex Gordon.
