Becker Has Hot Hand, Bangs 5 hits
It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-5 day. For many, it might come around only once in a career -- and for Pete Becker, it came around today.

The 24-year-old left fielder scattered hits all over Whataburger Field to pace the 10-1 Corpus Christi Hooks victory over the Arkansas Travelers.

Arkansas skipper Mike Redmond told reporters in the press room that "Becker deserves a hat-tip."

"He hit some good pitches against us," he said. "In fact, according to our scouting reports, Becker hit several that he is not supposed to be able to hit."

Pete Becker singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 6th and doubled in the 8th.

This year, Becker is hitting .304, produced 34 RBIs and 9 home runs, scored 31 times and gotten on base at a .345 rate.
