The Corpus Christi Hooks and Midland RockHounds put on quite a show.

The Corpus Christi Hooks beat the Midland RockHounds, 11-8, at Security Bank Ballpark. The Hooks got a fine performance from second baseman Mike Wilson, who was 3-5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 3 and driving in 2. Ken Zimmerman, now 2-0, was credited with the win in 2.2 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 2 and walking 2. Bob Barraclough locked down his 12th save.

Corpus Christi used the clutch hitting of Ted Smith to capture the win. The center fielder drilled a 2-run double in the top of the tenth inning to give the Hooks the lead, 10-8. For the game, Smith had 2 singles and 1 double in 4 at-bats.

"It was offense that won us the game," said winning manager Evan Scribner.

Corpus Christi now sits at 38-34, while Midland falls to 25-47.
