The Minnesota Twins downed the Chicago White Sox, 10-0, at Rate Field. Stellar pitching by Huascar Ynoa had a lot to do with it. The right-hander, who led the AL in ERA with 2.79 last year, handcuffed his opponent all game. Ynoa yielded no runs over 5.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 1, and struck out 5. His record improves to 1-1. The win puts Minnesota at 3-3.

Minnesota used a well-timed hit by Magneuris Sierra to capture the win. The left fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Twins ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.

Afterward, Chicago manager Fredi Gonzalez said: "Every team has a bad week."
