RoughRiders Rally Late to Nip Missions
|
The first-place Frisco RoughRiders took on the San Antonio Missions in front of a spirited crowd.
Frisco starter Willie Miller pitched well against the San Antonio Missions at Dr. Pepper Ballpark. The right-hander led his team to a win, 5-4. Robby Smith closed it out for his 9th save.
Jesús Rodríguez was 1 for 3 with a walk. He drove in 2 runs for Frisco. The 22-year old right fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the third. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring walk off Steve Jackson. It was his 15th walk of the season.
"Willie is tough when he's hitting his spots," said Frisco manager Mike Breyman.
Frisco is now 31-28, 3 games up in the South Division.
