RockHounds Suffer One-Run Loss at Tulsa
Tulsa Drillers starter Jeff Carpenter pitched well against the Midland RockHounds at ONEOK Field, leading his team to a win, 4-3. Carpenter, now 8-1, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 6, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs. Picking up the save was 25-year old right-handed pitcher José Otero.

Ed Cannon dealt the RockHounds a blow in the bottom of the second. Batting with the bases loaded and Tulsa leading 1-0, Cannon, who is tied for 2nd in the TEX in hits with 62, hit a 2-0 curveball for a 2-run single.

"I thought Jeff threw the ball well across the board," said Tulsa manager Victor Martinez.

Tulsa goes to 39-17. The win puts them 5½ games up in their division.
