The Tulsa Drillers defeated the Frisco RoughRiders, 9-4. Left Fielder Joe Howell deserved a large share of the credit. Howell went 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 for the Drillers. The winning pitcher was Jeff Carpenter. He's now 6-1. He went 6.2 innings, allowing 4 runs on 10 hits for the Drillers. Picking up the save was fireballing right-hander Héctor Ramos.

Tulsa used the timely hitting of Héctor Rodríguez to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Drillers on top, 7-4. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"I keep on showing up every day and trying to put up good at-bats and find good pitches to hit," said Howell.

Tulsa now has a record of 32-14 with the win.
