Evans Lifts Cardinals to 12-7 Triumph
With catcher Ed Evans leading the charge, the Springfield Cardinals defeated the Northwest Arkansas Naturals, 12-7, at Hammons Field. Evans, who is tied for 4th in the TEX in bases on balls with 20, went 1 for 1 with a home run and 3 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. Springfield is now 19-14, Northwest Arkansas 9-24.

Evans had an important at-bat with the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh, when he drew a walk, driving in 1 run. The Cardinals went on to win.

"Some wins are easy and some are difficult, but either way we come to the ballpark ready to work hard every day," Evans told the Springfield Daily News.
