The Corpus Christi Hooks beat the Frisco RoughRiders, 14-4, at Whataburger Field. José Rea, in particular, was impressive. He went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 doubles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 5. Corpus Christi pitcher Dan Ball got the win, upping his record to 2-1. Augusto González got the loss. Frisco now is 8-17.

Corpus Christi got a big at-bat from Villa Fundación, Dominican Republic native Juan Martínez, who in the bottom of the fourth hit a 3-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Hooks ahead, 12-1.

"The name of the game is scoring runs," Rea said. "We did a good job of that today."
