Drillers Make It 4 In a Row with 7-4 Triumph Over San Antonio
|
Tulsa and San Antonio duked it out and the Drillers came out victorious.
The Tulsa Drillers topped the San Antonio Missions, 7-4, in Texas League action at Nelson W. Wolff Municipal Stadium. The standout performance belonged to Tulsa pitcher and Los Angeles, California, native Wally Carter. Carter, now 1-0, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 7, walking 1, and allowing 3 runs. José Otero notched his 3rd save of the season.
It could have been a different outcome for Tulsa, had it not been for Jorge Pagán, the 24-year old center fielder . Pagán contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put Tulsa up, 5-3.
"Another day, another win. On to the next one," Carter told the Tulsa Daily.
The Drillers, now 4-0, have played some good baseball in the early going.
