Montgomery Biscuits starter Ed LaGarde turned in a top-notch performance against the Birmingham Barons at Montgomery Riverwalk Stadium. The result was a win for the Biscuits, 4-2. LaGarde yielded 2 runs over 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 0, and struck out 8. His record improves to 2-0. Juan Díaz was credited with the save for Montgomery, his 1st of the season.

Joe Peterson hit a run-scoring double off Don Young in the bottom of the fifth, which put the Biscuits in front, 3-2. In addition to the double, Peterson had 1 single, while going 2 for 4.

"Winning is hard sometimes," said Biscuits manager Preston Guilmet. "This one was nice to get."
