Blue Wahoos Keep Streak Alive with Late Rally
|
Bruno Quinn, who is tied for 7th in the SL with a 10.1 K/9 rate, played a key role in a gritty 2-0 Pensacola Blue Wahoos win against the Birmingham Barons. Pensacola reliever António Castaneda picked up the win. Héctor Ochoa, who is tied for 5th in the SL in complete games with 3, took the loss for Birmingham. The current losing streak for Birmingham has reached 4 games.
Pensacola got a clutch hit from José Gonsáles. The right fielder launched a 2-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a kill shot.
"Winning in the last at-bat, there's nothing else like it," said Gonsáles.
