Simms Swings Blue Wahoos to 11-4 Win
The Pensacola Blue Wahoos beat the Mobile BayBears by a score of 11-4. Pensacola catcher Freddy Simms deserved the lion's share of the credit. Simms went 3-5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 and driving in 5 for the Blue Wahoos. The first-place Blue Wahoos, at 59-39, lead the North Division by 5½ games.

Von Carter helped out the Pensacola cause in the top of the fourth inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the third baseman was 1-4 with a walk.

"Whenever you can come through for your ball club, it's a great thing," said Simms.
