Biloxi Wins, Trumping Jackson, 5-1

The Biloxi Shuckers knocked off the Jackson Generals, 5-1, in Southern League action at MGM Park. Biloxi pitcher and Clifton, Colorado, native Pat Slusher had an outstanding performance. Slusher yielded 1 run over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 2, and struck out 9. His record improves to 2-9. Cedric Lee closed it out for Biloxi, earning his 7th save.
Ernie Brewster had a big 2-run home run for the Shuckers in the bottom of the third inning. With Biloxi leading 2-0 and a runner on 2nd, he sized up a slider from Steve Medina, who is tied for 3rd in the SL in wins with 10, and punished it. The result was his 8th home run of the season, which put the Shuckers on top, 4-0.
"We took home the win," said Slusher. "What's not to like?"
The Generals, now 58-35, have lost 4 in a row.
