Santiago K's 13 En Route to 3-0 Barons Win
|
The Birmingham Barons banked on Jorge Santiago and he turned in a masterful performance. The right-hander kept the Montgomery hitters in check. The final score was 3-0, Barons. Jeff Jones picked up his 18th save of the season. With the win, Birmingham pushed its record to 45-42.
Santiago tossed 130 pitches over 8 innings to clinch the win for the Barons. The right-hander allowed just 5 hits, while racking up 13 strikeouts in the game.
"Jorge gets tougher when he has to, makes a big pitch when he has to," said Birmingham skipper Casey Kopitzke.
