The Jackson Generals earned a win at MGM Park, knocking off the Biloxi Shuckers, 4-2. On the bump for Jackson was right-hander Jimmy Smith. He had a starring role in the triumph. Robbie Jones was the winner in relief. His record is now 1-3. The losing pitcher was Stu Adams. The Generals sit in second place in the North Division with a record of 47-39.

Bryan Emery, who is tied for 7th in the SL in runs scored with 44, had a direct impact on the outcome. Emery contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the 12th inning to put Jackson up, 3-2.

Smith called the win a testament to his team's "grit."
