The home crowd had a good time watching the Pittsburgh Pirates and Miami Marlins get after it.

The performance of Sam Jones proved critical in helping Miami beat Pittsburgh, 10-1. The Marlins first baseman went 3-4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Travis Radke, credited with the win in relief, is now 1-0. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 1.2 innings. Dan Reynolds sewed up the save, his 1st.

With Miami leading 1-0 in the bottom of the first, Jones hit a sinker from Luis Gallegos for a 2-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Marlins ahead, 3-0.

Pittsburgh manager Jose Mijares called the blowout loss "not what we wanted."

The victory makes Miami 3-0.
