Montgomery Tacks 8-3 Loss on Biloxi
|
Juan Rodríguez, who is tied for 10th in the SL in quality starts with 8, had a strong outing for the Montgomery Biscuits against the Biloxi Shuckers at Montgomery Riverwalk Stadium. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 8-3 win. Rodríguez, now 8-6, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 2, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. The win puts Montgomery at 28-43.
Steve McVeagh had a big run-scoring double for the Biscuits in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Montgomery leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a changeup from Berto Amoyo, who is tied for 10th in the SL in strikeouts with 83, and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 5th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Biscuits ahead, 2-0.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Rodríguez.
