Stokes Hits 2 home runs in Shuckers Win
Wet weather did not postpone the Biloxi-Montgomery ballgame.

Mike Stokes batted in 6 runs to lead Biloxi to a win over Montgomery. The final score was 8-5. Stokes chipped in 1 single and 2 home runs. Randy Smith, who is tied for 3rd in the SL with a 2.24 ERA, was the winner. He's now 6-3. The loser was Juan Díaz.

With Biloxi leading 2-0 in the top of the fifth, Stokes hit a curveball from Juan Díaz for a grand slam home run. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Shuckers ahead, 6-0.

"I'm not out there for personal accomplishments," Stokes told a Biloxi Times reporter after the game. "I'm out there to help the team win, and that's what we did today."

The Shuckers go to 25-43 with the win.
