Biscuits Turn Back Suns, 3-2
|
Montgomery Biscuits starter Jesús Fernández led his team to victory over the Jacksonville Suns, 3-2. The right-hander was locked-in. Fernández got the win, improving to 4-7. He gave up 6 hits and walked 3 over 5.2 innings. He allowed 1 run. Horace Cook, credited with the save, is now 6 for 9 in save opportunities.
Sergio Aguilar had a big run-scoring double for the Biscuits in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Montgomery leading 2-1 and a runner on 2nd, he got a fastball from Alex Carter and swatted a double to left. It was his 10th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Biscuits ahead, 3-1.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Montgomery manager Preston Guilmet.
So far in 2025, Montgomery is 25-40.
